Sports Massage & Injury Recovery

Swedish Massage

Therapeutic and relaxing using lotions or oils and long continuous strokes, Swedish-style massage is great for relief of muscle spasms and congested lymph areas and promotes deep feelings of relaxation. It increases circulation, stretches ligaments and tendons, and stimulates the skin and nervous system while reducing emotional and physical stress.

 

Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release

Trauma and overuse can cause tissue to develop adhesions and harden, which decreases mobility and flexibility. Myofascial release techniques are used to promote a more fluid state for the fascia. Generally slower than Swedish massage, this technique goes deeper into the muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension.

 

Neuromuscular Therapy/Trigger Point Therapy

Focusing on specific problems and symptoms, these techniques are Ideal for treating tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, sciatica, carpal tunnel, and other conditions by utilizing deep tissue and trigger point release techniques. A trigger point is a hypersensitive area in soft tissue that, when compressed, is locally tender and refers pain.

 

Trager Method/Sensory Repatterning

A form of gentle movement education used to remind the body of how it should work, gentle rocking motions will release tension and give the body a feeling of freedom. This gentle and nurturing approach repatterns the body and releases injuries from sports, stress, headaches, depression, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, as well as every day aches and pains.

 

Pregnancy Massage

Nurturing, caring massage therapy will help ease hormone spikes, weight shifts, and life changes. It will assist your body’s natural hormone regulation, improving mood swings and aiding in the reduction of swelling in the joints. It can improve nerve pain, specifically sciatic pain that is most common amongst pregnant women in their third trimester.
